a note from my favorite author...:)

as many of you know, i have hurt my right hand pinkie and am finding it difficult to do anything, let alone type. the timing of this is especially troublesome because my first semester in school since 24 years ago, started today...

also, as many of you have heard, i had the opportunity to reach out to James Ferrell and share my feelings regarding his books. he reponded, and that is something that i would like to share with you:

Rhonda,

Thank you for sending me your remarkable story. I always stand amazed at the Lord's merciful work in each of our lives. Sometimes, in the middle of it, the merciful gestures are unrecognized. In retrospect, however, they testify of a patient and loving father. I will treasure your story. And what a wonderful thing to have a son like your Taylor, who is serious about serious things. I'm sure that the strength he has received through hardship will serve him and others well on his mission.

Thanks again.

Jim

i just wrote tay and shared this response with him as well. honestly? i'm so grateful that i've had the chance to tell a man that made such a difference in my life, exactly that! it began with my sister Candice, placing the book into my hands and from there, straight into my needy soul.

so, with school and a pinkie gone awry, my entries will be a rare occurance- and keeping up on the blogs you write as well, but i know that you will be supportive and at the same time you will know how much i love and appreciate you.

rhonda

What a unique and wonderful experience for you. You seem to have a way of connecting with great minds. :-)

I certainly can validate the helpful message of his book. It gave me the tools I needed to put aside some old negative feelings I had held on to for many years--and as a result--much personal freedom gained. Thanks for sharing this with us and good luck with EVERYTHING! Rhonda.

That is awesome! I did that once at BYU, handed Michael McClean(sp?) a note while he was signing albums. I love this author. His books are amazing! You are too!

I'm so excited for you Rhonda! I'm excited about your correspondence with James Ferrell and I'm excited for you with school! I'm not so excited about your pinkie though, so I hope it heals quickly. No worries about blogging often... it definitely gets hard to fit it all in to our schedules. Love you!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your pinkie, that would be hard with school starting. Cool that James Ferrell wrote you back. I'm sure he appreciated hearing what you had to say.

I am so glad you wrote him! Your story is a treasure, and I am sure he will always remember it.

I do hope you will blog somewhat about your school experiences, I am looking forward to hearing about any and all lively discussions in the classroom! I have had a few of my own...probably didn't share them. So don't follow my example!

Of course, school gets crazy...esp. with a pinkie situation!

Just want to say how proud I am of you for what you are doing for yourself and your family!!!!
